Multnomah Falls. This was almost two weeks ago. I haven’t “worked out” since. I have been working on a project at work that I’m super passionate about, started painting again including starting a 4 week painting class, been studying my butt off for a certification exam next Tuesday, read a book, and spent more time with friends than I have probably since I moved here. Do I miss fitness? Yes. Do I feel guilty? No. I’m not training for anything right now and doing things that make my heart happy like hanging with people I love, creating, and doing valuable work is super important to me. It’s good to have layers. I AM an athlete, but I’m not ONLY an athlete. . What are you passionate about outside of fitness? I’d love to learn about your layers!
Got a few runs in this week. Really struggling with where my fitness is right now. I feel like I am starting over. But I know in a a few things will start feel better. Getting running, strength training, and logging my food is making me feel more settled in here. Really excited for Spring and Summer!
SNOWWW! Such a happy lady right now. Headed out for a little longer run than I have been doing. Just couldn’t make myself head back to the Jeep so soon. So much fun playing in the woods today. The only thing missing was friends to share it with. Was missing my NY-NJ trail peeps so hard today! Still needing to incorporate walking to keep my HR down low enough, but definitely feeling stronger with each run. 💪 Started IG stories back up and posted a few videos from the trail. Check out the winter wonderland and critter noises! 😍
Another afternoon trail run. Ran my regular loop trail in reverse. Noticed so many things I hadn’t before and think this direction is a little more challenging! Ended with some hill repeats again. To the dude that waved at the top of the hill, sorry my oxygen deprived brain didn’t react in time to wave back. 😂 Photo from the sunset after my last run that I forgot to share. 🌅
This time last week I was on Mt Hood exploring, snowboarding, and making memories with dear friends. This week I am back at work after a couple days of training, just trying to keep up with my meeting schedule and mourning the loss of a dear furbabe. (Not mine, but loved dearly nonetheless.) The sun shining in my window, the promise of snow this weekend, and a bestie date night tomorrow are keeping me smiling. I’m choosing positivity today and sharing with you in hopes you will do the same. If you are blessed enough to choose happiness (not all are), do. And share it. You never know when you will be the much needed sunshine on someone’s cloudy day. ☀️
It’s really easy to make excuses. But all you need is one good reason. Today mine was the slightest possibility of seeing snow covered ferns on the trail. There wasn’t much snow left, but it was still gorgeous. Lots of random thoughts. Lots of gratitude. No filter on this photo, btw.
